Classic Bruschetta

  • 2 big tomatoes, diced – I used the beefsteak
  • 1/4 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp dark balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt, to taste
  • garlic cloves (optional) – I did not use any garlic


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients together.
  2. Let sit/rest for approx. 10 min to allow the flavors blend. (The longer it sits, the better the flavor. It lasts for a few days covered with plastic wrap in the fridge.)
  3. Serve with tostitos, toast, fresh bread, crackers or over grilled meat.
