Parmesan Crisps a la Ina Garten

By Angelika Hanna

Ina Garten has definitely inspired me in her ‘Barfoot Contessa’ TV Show on the Food Network. I have been cooking her Parmesan recipes one after another.

These delicious zesty Parmesan crisps are the perfect snack for in between the meals. They are really good with a cup of tea. I keep them fresh in an airtight container and they last for days.

  • 4 ounce of Parmesan Grana Padano cheese
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp minced thyme leaves (I used dried thyme)
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Grate the Parmesan using the large grating side of grater.
  3. Combine the Parmesan, flour, thyme, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix well.
  4. Spoon level tablespoons of the mixture on your sheet pan; spread each round into a 3-inch disk.
  5. Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 min, until your disks are golden brown.
  6. Let cool your baked Parmesan crisps for 5 min on the pan, then loosen them with a metal spatula and transfer to a baking rack to cool completely.
  7. Serve at room temperature.
  8. Keep the remainders in an airtight container at room temperature.
